Tough Love and Addiction

Back in January, I was interviewed for Good Morning America for a story on the life and death of Casey Johnson. I recently spoke to ABC again about how families cope when a child has an addiction.

I spoke with ABC News regarding the “tough love” approach and how it’s evolved over time to be a more effective strategy.

There is a written article, Parents Face Difficult Decisions When Dealing With a Drug-Addicted Child,  or you can view the accompanying video, Tough Love: Dealing with Addiction. Both are available at the ABC website. The article is part two of the series “Family in Crisis: At the Breakpoint”.
